About Kenya

Hi I’m Kenya. My favorite things are Fashion and Music. Just like when you undress at night, I bare my soul in my music and createmy own lane. Just like in real love, you never know where it takes you.

I like to imagine I was living in the time of the Harlem Renaissance in the 20’s. I’ve always felt like I was a reincarnation of that era. My favorite thing is writing songs about life, especially real situations that I’ve been through or other people’s reality.

I’m easily entertained, excited, and amazed. I love listening to comedians and “LIVE” music. I am a spontaneous free spirit that moves where the wind takes me and my angels surround me while I take flight. I love hearing good news and being around positive people. My greatest fear is getting bad news and forgetting the words to my song on stage. Even though I’ve opened up for A-List celebrities and worked hand in hand with a few, I am humble and grounded. I realize this is my art and it’s just what I do. I “LIVE” music. I really love showing people that Teamwork makes the Dream work. And at my shows you are sure to be up and moving because I love to dance. I took ballet all the way up to my high school senior year. And I was a B-girl doing Hip-Hop dance in Paris at one point.

I am mesmerized when I listen to great music and become catatonic with my Dr. Dre headphones on. I enjoy drawing my fashion creations and cooking all while listening to music at home.

I’m on the cusp of Taurus/ Gemini so I like to do many things at one time. My energetic personality drives my determination to do my best in whatever it is I love at the time. A and my third eye drives me to genuine people. I don’t like fake or egotistical types. Although, I have been wrong a few times about some people… I love my family and friends. I have a few good friends and are always making lots of new friends along the way.

I love writing comedy and making movies. It is my dream to be a great Film Maker one day. I believe you can never know too much, and learning isa life long process.

Music is my first love. Fashion is my second love. I’ve had a long time love affair with music. It has taken me all over the world and earned me awards and pay. It has also earned music icons to mentor me in the business.

My fans have made my musical journey a wonderfully joyous adventure. I call my fans “Dolls” because they are so Amazingly sweet to me! My guy fans are just as inspirational as the gals. It’sreally cool to have such a huge international fan base, even when I don’t understand the many languages they write to me in. I feel blessed to have such amazing support of fans that understand and relate to my music and me so well. For the past year, I have made a transformation by eliminating negative people from my life, eating healthy (most of the time) and surrounding myself with positive uplifting people who love music as much as me. This has opened so many new doors for me and led me to the right people who have taken me under theirwings. My team has grown strong and they are constantly motivating me. This is why I called my first album “Reflections” because it was a time in my life I had to reflect on, and I wrote about it. I started my new project called “Better Than You” with a new vibe of music that describes my crazy, unapologetic side of just being myself. Did I mention.... the Gemini comes out from time to time? I’m all about taking a leap of faith. This is the playful big kid in me. “Better Than You” will take you on a ride of love filled roller coasters and fast paced clubmixes you can dance to with Ciroc shots & toasting champagne glasses on the dance floor. It is also the title song in my new upcoming movie, “Bullets, Blades, & Blood” written and produced by Robert Parham. “Better Than You” describes how you can make it without someone you thought you could never live without. Love is erratic and unpredictable. When I write about these experiences, its music everyone can relate to. It’s passionate, exhilarating, invigorating, relevant, filledwith infatuation, flirtation, frustration, and a wide array of emotions through the eyes of a true artist. When I look back on all these experiences, I am grateful for all of them, the good and bad ones. For they have made me stronger and in the end, I still get “All Dolled Up”.

I excited to see what the future holds for me! But most of all, I can’t wait tomeet you, my fans, the “Dolls” the ones I adore, the ones who lift me up when days are grey and times are hard. Thank you for following me, showing up, listening, reading about me, promoting me and taking me into your homes and heart. Thank you so much for giving me the inspiration, motivation, support and most of all, LOVE! Godspeed ~
